India defeated England 3-2 to stay afloat in the Champions Challenge hockey tournament. India, who had lost 0-2 to New Zealand in their first match, were locked 1-1 at half-time. But in the second half, Dilip Tirkey sent a rasping shot off a penalty corner to give India the lead. Eight minutes later Jonty Clarke scored off a short corner to bring level at 2-2.
